Thanks, Petra! My MacBook said it couldn't secure a connection to the server for the individual letters, but I was able to download the zip file. Very interesting.
Thanks again!

true fortune cookie story____it was a new chinese buffet restaurant and it didn't last very long.the proprietors were young, hip, and way too modern.
*for one thing, they got their fortune cookies from a different source than all other restaurants --the fun kind of fortune cookie which is specific and definite.my fortune, for example:"a tall, hot blonde will enter your life today.
"zowie!that put a bit of pep in my step!
Good one, Terry! I may be forced to steal that story when the opportunity presents itself.
Keep 'em comin', my friend.
1973mysterious lady (in the back bungalow).
me: driving a squad car for a private security service.
me: "warren's night off.
Hey, Terry! Thanks for the clarification. I took a pretty good look at that same picture online and couldn't identify anyone I thought matched your description either.
Regardless, it's a great story and now it has two mysteries attached. Who was this sophisticated and amorous young lady? And... did you give what she needed so much that night? I'm sure you're too much of a gentleman to kiss and tell, so the reader's imagination will have to suffice. Either way, it was a wonderfully titillating trip down memory lane. Thanks for bringing us along.

Uhhh... Terry, I looked up the 1973 Van Cliburn competition and the official booklet doesn't list any contestants from Italy. Also, none of the pictured pianists look as you described, or even Italian at all to me. Is there any chance you got the year wrong? I'd be very interested to see a picture of this young lady...
Regardless, thanks for the story. You have a real gift there.
i was listening to a radio show about a jw women who had been disfellowshiped , her daughter cut off all contact ,must admit at the time i thought so what.. then this man phoned up and explained he was disfellowshiped for asking about jws being ngo in the united nations during 90s till early 2000s when a newspaper exposed them , i still thought he's a apostate but looked it up found the article then found this forum and even more info..
My awakening started in the 80's when the Book Studies were covering the Revelation book. When we came to the part about this and that trumpet foreshadowing various conventions of the early JWs, I realized they were pulling that crap out of their butts and that it was all BS. I never believed they had the Truth™ after that.
Shortly thereafter, I saw an ad somewhere about "1-800-Why-1914." I called the number and had a nice but brief conversation. They recommended Ray Franz' Crisis of Conscience. I devoured a copy and never looked back. That was it for me! It didn't really tell me anything I hadn't already suspected, but it did confirm some things I'd thought all along.
Since then, my decision to leave the JWs has been confirmed and validated many times. The Borg has devolved into nothing more than a money grubbing mind-control televangelizing cult. No different than Robert Tilton, Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Bennie Hinn, Reverend Ike, Jimmy Swaggart, and the multitude of other charlatans. Not as entertaining as some of them, but just as greedy and duplicitous. Fork 'em all!
i found a pamphlet in one of my old bound vol.
a 1969 awake, that had a pamphlet from a senator who gave a speech on the hoxsey cure.
i know of several jws who went to mexico and got this treatment.
I had a work acquaintance who was otherwise very intelligent. But he was also way deep into alternative medicine. His mom had cancer and finally gave up on chemo. So he and his wife got some alternative medicine "doc" to see her and he prescribed, among other things, coffee enemas. My friend was all excited when those blackened, dead cancer cells were just "pouring out of her." Hmmm...
When she died a short time later, all they said was they had started her treatments too late.
When a person, no matter how well educated, decides they believe something, no amount of scientific evidence or other proof will convince them otherwise. Just like the way religious superstitions get ahold of people who should know better.
while even non-peaceful people have been awarded the peace prize (e.g.
arafat, kissinger), i am confused as to how obama could possibly have won the award one year after being the first term junior senator from illinois with zero “peace” experience (other than his ‘well-articulated’ rhetoric)..
reading the obama-pining on a couple of posts made me reexamine my view of barry’s presidency..
I believe it was more for what Obama represented than anything specific he had accomplished, other than being elected President. He was the first mulatto President, though he identified as black (African American). Even his half-blackness was regarded as ground breaking progress in American social awareness.
His election was thought to represent a huge step forward in American thinking. His presidency's merits and short-comings are vigorously debated among scholars, but this is not the place for that discussion.
she was very active in the 1970's then kind of faded away.
i remember her mostly as "weezy" on 'the jeffersons' but she also played the mother 'mrs.
evans' on 'good times'.
Actually, she didn't play Weezy on The Jeffersons. Isabel Sanford played Weezy.
Ms. Dubois did, however, co-write and sing "Movin' On Up," the theme song for The Jeffersons. What a catchy tune! It'll cheer just about anybody up.
someone has uploaded both episodes to google drive.

Jehalapeno: You seem to be more concerned about a major corporation's copyrights than the good the widespread distribution of these documentaries will do. Why is that? If the unauthorized downloads offend you, don't download them. Simple. You can then watch them however and whenever you can, if you choose to do so.
The way I see it, Oxygen broadcasted the shows to as wide an audience as possible. Shouldn't be a problem if people want to help them further distribute them, especially if they still include the commercials that financed them to start with. No difference between that and recording it for later viewing on your own DVR and inviting a friend over to watch it with you. Not everybody has a DVR. That said, I do agree it would be wrong to charge anyone to download or view an unauthorized copy. That would be selling a product you do not own or have any right to sell.
Let me get this straight: this person is known to have committed several murders before his baptism, but he is obviously repentant so is good to go. But, he smoked some weed after his baptism, so he must be questioned and punished accordingly. For smoking weed. But not for the multiple murders he committed in the past. Are you kidding me???
Personally, I think penitent-clergy confidentiality is a crock of crap. Ok, maybe it could pass the sniff test if it only applied to "sins" that did not involve any unwilling participants. Fine. But it should not apply to any type of mandatorily reported crime, especially if it involved violence or sexual abuse against anyone, child or not. No one should be allowed to hide behind religion to avoid the consequences of crimes against others.
